With emergence of connected and automated vehicles, Fortran is developing solutions to make the vehicles the sensors on the road to replace the legacy capital intensive infrastructure with a more effective solution with a fraction of the cost. ARIA ATMS is an award winning and patent pending Advanced Transportation Management System. The centerpiece component of ARIA is a reliable, comprehensive, integrated real-time centralized Traffic Signal Control System. It provides an integrated platform for ITS initiatives including traffic signal control, information management, and data visualization and manipulation. The Fortran Glide V2X solution provides operational information from traffic signals to drivers and other road users in a format that will allow them to make more informed decisions. This will have the effect of increased safety, decreasing the amount of fuel consumed, reducing the number of stops, lowering emissions as well as easing driver frustration.
