Profile

Mediphage is a Toronto-based biotech that developed a scalable E.coli-based manufacturing process to produce its proprietary and backbone-free mini-string DNA (msDNA), which is a linear, high fidelity, covalently closed double-stranded DNA vector. msDNA can be used as a starting material for rAAV (recombinant adeno-associated virus), lentivirus, and mRNA production and as a drug substance in applications like non-viral gene addition, gene editing, and DNA vaccines. The demand for high-fidelity backbone-free DNA is present as currently, Mediphage has several collaborations with various large pharma, biotech companies and prestigious CDMOs (contract development and manufacturing organization).
