Center for Research on Environmental Microbiology (CREM Co Labs)

Profile

The Center for Research on Environmental Microbiology (CREM Co Labs) is an Ontario-based research centre and contract laboratory advancing applied microbiology, biotechnology, environmental health and translational life sciences. It operates in compliance with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Good Laboratory Practice (OECD GLP) and is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for selected testing activities.

CREM Co Labs provides microbiology, virology, cell culture, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, stability and preclinical research services. Its specialized capabilities include antimicrobial and antiviral efficacy testing; controlled aerobiology chamber studies; evaluation of disinfectants, antiseptics, air-treatment technologies and medical products; pathogen detection; chemical characterization; and zebrafish-based efficacy and toxicity models.

Alongside sponsor-funded studies, the centre conducts independent, internally initiated research programs aimed at scientific advancement and commercialization. These include bacteria-mediated cancer therapy, development of novel microbial biofertilizers to improve plant growth and soil health, biological hydrogen production using photosynthetic microorganisms, airborne microorganism survival and control, and innovative antimicrobial technologies. CREM Co Labs is seeking Japanese and Korean research collaborators, co-development partners, investors, licensees and clients interested in technology validation, commercialization and high-quality Canadian research supporting global product development.
